Back when you were little, everyone told you to follow your dreams. They kept telling you that anything was possible if you put your mind to it. But you were little then. In reality, not all dreams come true. And it hurts when you come to that realization. That's when you learn what reality is like. It's called growing up.

With your head finally out of the clouds, you need to make a decision with how you live your life. For most people, that's what college is for. Some people view college as the place where all decisions about your future are made. I believe it's a stepping stone towards making the decisions that will affect the rest of your life. 

Some people are still stuck in their fantasy when they enter college. Others have tasted reality for quite some time. And then there are those people who have just left their fantasy and started to experience reality. 

Those who are still stuck in their fictional view of the world think they know what they want to do in life. They enter college in a major they think will help them reach the dream job they have always desired. Once they enter college, they start to experience just how much hard work it really is. For some, this amount of work becomes too much to handle and they come to the realization that maybe their dream job was merely just a dream. That's when reality hits them. And they suddenly become just like those who are stuck in between.

Those who have experienced reality before college often aren't taking the path they once thought they would. They have a chosen a path they are content with but might not be too ecstatic about. They had to make the choice of what would help them lead the best life after college. These are the people who often tough it out all four years in the same degree just get to the end result. But with one less worry in their life, these people are able to focus on enjoying the moment. Because the fairy tale doesn't always last forever and they know it.

Those who enter college just as reality hits them often don't know which direction to take in life. These are typically your undecided. They don't have a path that they need to follow. Instead, they test the waters to see what might interest them. These are the people that do the most learning. Some may not learn the academics but they'll all learn how to deal with reality. They learn to find a path on their own. They deal with the stresses of living life and how to better to eliminate those stresses. And somewhere along the way they finally have their "aha" moment that helps them realize just what they should be doing with their life. And they're usually the most happy with their decision.

No matter what type of person they are as they enter college, they all will share one thing in common: the reach. They may no longer be reaching for their dreams as they were once told they could. However, they are reaching for something else: the sky. Because beyond the sky is an unknown universe filled with things that are waiting to be uncovered. Beyond everyone's sky is an unknown path that leads straight to success. Hence, if you look among the stars, you'll find your success.

So the four years of college may not be where all the final decisions are made. The four years of college may just in fact be where you learn how to stretch as far as you can go until you find your way. And from there it's all about exploring the unknown. And that's when you'll reach your success. Because the one dream that does come true is the one where you find your success in life.
